The Sony World Photography Awards’ 2026 travelling exhibition is scheduled to open in Berlin on October 8 and run until February 7, 2027, according to Sony’s September 23 announcement.
The organizer also announced the jury and London exhibition dates for the 2027 awards. The London show is scheduled for April 15–May 3, 2027, at Somerset House, with Monica Allende returning as Series competition jury chair and exhibition curator.
What changes for entrants
The Professional competition is now called Series, while Open becomes Single Image. New categories include Histories in Series and Animal Portraits in Single Image. Photographers considering entry should read the organizer’s full category definitions before selecting their work.
