A Five-Minute Check Before Delivering a Photo Gallery

Photographer preparing framed prints and a portfolio for a juried gallery show

A finished edit is not the same as a finished delivery. Reserve a short review for the exported files and the gallery the client will actually see. This catches mistakes that remain invisible inside the editing application.

Inspect the delivered version

Open several exported photographs, including a bright frame, a dark frame and an image with an important crop. Confirm dimensions, orientation and appearance. Check filenames and make sure unwanted tests or duplicates have not entered the delivery folder.

Review captions and any identifying information for accuracy and relevance. If metadata is included, confirm that it contains what you intend to share. Consider whether location details are appropriate for the assignment rather than exporting every field automatically.

Walk through the client experience

Open the gallery using the access arrangement intended for the recipient. Check the order, download controls and any expiration information. Verify that the client can understand what has been delivered and what to do next, whether that means choosing favorites or downloading final files.

Keep a record of the delivered set and the accompanying instructions. If another person reviews the gallery, give them a specific task rather than asking whether everything looks good. A brief, consistent check is more effective than an anxious last glance. It protects the care already invested in the photographs by making the final handover equally clear.
